Norman A. Leewright, age 44, of Lakeside, Iowa, died August 13, 2012, at his home in Lakeside.
Norman A. Leewright was born on February 7, 1968, in St. James, Minnesota. As a child, he was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Manly, Iowa.
Growing up, he attended school in Manly where he graduated from North Central Community School. Following high school, he began working at IBP in Storm Lake until he was injured in a motorcycle accident in 1989.
Norman pursued further education at Iowa Central Community College where he earned an Associate's Degree. He, later, attended Buena Vista University in Storm Lake where he studied Criminal Justice.
On August 18, 2007, Norman married Tina Syndergaard in Storm Lake.
Norman enjoyed collecting and restoring Cub Cadet tractors and mowers as well as model cars. In his spare time, he also liked quilting. He loved being outdoors, especially camping and traveling. He was an avid sports fan of the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings. Additionally, he spoke to high school students about the consequences of drinking and driving. Norman valued his family very much, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Tina Leewright, of Lakeside, Iowa; his parents, Ron Leewright, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Barb Leewright, of Storm Lake, Iowa; his children: Justin Leewright, Chantel Younie, Brandon Younie, Charlie Syndergaard, Jon (Mel) Syndergaard, Toni Sargent, and Brandon Sargent; his grandchildren: Cali, Bailee, and Blaine Kuhse; Symbre, Payton, and Kaseton Syndergaard; and Dayken Sargent; his brothers, Mike (Stacy) Leewright, of Bland, Virginia, and Troy (Debbi) Leewright, of Manly, Iowa; his parents-in-law, Joe and Marilyn Syndergaard, of Spencer, Iowa; his sisters-in-law, Jackie (Kevin) Vodraska, of Spencer, Iowa, and Brenda (Scott) Grove, of New Hampton, Iowa; and his brothers-in-law, Adam (Vicki) Syndergaard, of Spencer, Iowa, and Tom Syndergaard, of Wisconsin; as well as nieces, nephews; great nieces and nephews; extended family; and friends.
Norman was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Doris Leewright and William Coleman; Erna and Jake Harder; and his beloved dogs, Zeus and Molly.
Visitation: 5:00-8:00 p.m., August 15, 2012, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
