April 17, 1960 - July 07, 2012Cherokee, Iowa -- Storm Lake, Iowa
Becky L. Grienke, age 52, of Storm Lake, Iowa, and formerly of Alta, Iowa, died Saturday, July 7, 2012, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.
Becky Lynn Grienke, the daughter of James and Blondina Bunney Grienke, was born in Cherokee, Iowa, on April 17, 1960. She attended Alta schools and went to work for the Law Firm of Dan Connell and John Duffy while still in high school and barely seventeen years old. After Judge Duffy was appointed to the Bench, she continued to work for Dan Connell until July 7, 2012.
Becky was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and remained a lifetime member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Alta.
After Becky was diagnosed with cancer, she faced her biggest challenge with dignity. She would spread her positive and uplifting spirit on when others joined her in their own battle – she was truly an inspiration to many.
Preceding Becky in death was her brother-in-law, Duane Fahr.
Those left to cherish her memory include her best and special friend, Steve Tate, of Alta; her parents, Jim and Blondina, of Alta; seven sisters: Jean Sticken, of Omaha, Nebraska, Ellen Wood, and Claudina Grienke, both of Alta, Julie Fahr, of Bloomfield, Nebraska, Chris (Clem) Ledoux, of Alta, Iowa, Nancy (Scott) Tegarden, of Summerfield, South Carolina, and Debbie (John) Gilmer, of Friend, Nebraska; as well as her many extended family members and friends, who will miss the strength, hope, and laughter she shared with all she touched.
Visitation: 5:00-8:00 p.m,, July 10, 2012, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., July 11, 2012, at The Trinity Lutheran Church in Alta, Iowa.
