Nila Mae Kuhn, age 75, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.
Nila Mae Baker was born May 1, 1937, in Havelock, Iowa, the daughter of Marion and Sylvia (Essick) Baker. She graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1955.
On September 24, 1955, Nila married Laverle (Pat) John Kuhn at the Methodist Church in Newell, Iowa. This union was blessed with two children: Michael John and Pamela Mae.
Nila was a member of the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. She enjoyed working in her flower garden. More than all else, however, Nila loved and adored her family and the time she spent with them or watching their activities.
Those who will cherish Nila's memory include her children: Michael (Laurie) Kuhn, of Delphi, Indiana, and Pamela (Roger) Kuhn-Schossow, of Storm Lake; her grandchildren: Kory (Angie) DeMey, of Storm Lake, Patrick DeMey, also of Storm Lake, Keith DeMey, of Newell, Iowa, Tammy Lesher, of Lafayette, Indiana, and Justin Kuhn, of Delphi, Indiana; her great grandchildren: Austin Bunkers, of Cherokee, Iowa, Trenton DeMey, of Pomeroy, Iowa, Taylor and Hunter DeMey, of Storm Lake, Alexia Lesher, of Lafayette, Indiana, and Trevor DeMey, of Newell, Iowa; as well as other extended family and many friends.
Preceding Nila in death were her parents; her husband; one brother, Glede Baker; and one sister, Delia Baker.
Visitation: 4:00-8:00 p.m., June 08, 2012, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., June 09, 2012, at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake, Iowa.
