Mabel Cleone Larsen was born December 9, 1924, to Walter and Ane (Pedersen) Larsen near Milford, Iowa.
The youngest of ten children, Mabel attended country school near Milford until the family moved to Heron Lake, Minnesota. After a few years, her family moved again, this time to a farm north of Alta. After her mother passed away, Mabel kept house for her father and brother. She and her brother, Roy, lived in Alta but moved to an acreage near Linn Grove where they remained until Roy’s death. Then, Mabel moved to Paradise Park in Storm Lake where she lived for twenty years. After her health began to fail, she moved to North Lake Manor.
Mabel loved to read and crochet. She also made many dolls and painted many pictures. Always happy to see people come by, she loved having company.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Oscar, Roy, and John Larsen; six sisters, Stena Van Wilkle, Marie Olson, Lillian Cardamon, Laura Molgaard, Millie Smith, and Alma Collins.
Numerous nieces and nephews survive.
