Patricia Rasmussen, age 79, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Saturday, March 24, 2012, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

Patricia A. Keller, daughter of Bernard Sitzmann and Francis Keller, was born April 16, 1932, in Correctionville, Iowa. Baptized and confirmed at the Church of Christ in Correctionville, she was raised by her grandparents, Frank and Sadie Keller. She graduated from Correctionville High School in 1950. Following high school, she attended Wayne State College, later becoming employed as a telephone operator.

On July 16, 1955, Patricia married Herb Rasmussen at the Lutheran Church in Aurelia, Iowa. After starting their married life in Aurelia, they were blessed with three daughters, Lori, Lisa, and Stacey. Later, they moved to their farm in Cushing. Pat was raised as a town girl and often told of stories of their early days on the farm.

In her younger years, Pat directed the choir at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cushing. Music played a major role in her life as she had a wonderful voice and shared it with many.

Herb and Pat enjoyed belonging to a neighborhood card club in Cushing and going to dances with their friends. She was a member of the Elks. Her Mary Kay Cosmetic business kept her busy while allowing her to do what she loved best, dressing up, wearing her make-up and dangling earrings, and socializing with people. Pat enjoyed many years with her grandkids. She and Herb spent many winters in Texas. There, they spent time dancing at Pepe’s, socializing with friends, and volunteering at local schools. They also enjoyed retirement in Storm Lake while boating on the lake and relaxing at their home.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters: Lori Droegmiller, of Storm Lake, Lisa, and her husband, Steve Hathaway, of Kingsley, Iowa, and Stacey, and her husband, Roger Tiefenthaler, of Early, Iowa; her grandchildren: Adam, and his wife, Janelle Droegmiller, Abby Droegmiller, Christina Macklem, Nicholas, and his wife, Kari Morgan, and Adam and wife, Stephanie Tiefenthaler, as well as Sarah, Laura, Michael, David, and Anna Tiefenthaler; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant brother, Duane; an aunt, Deloris Paulson; and her grandparents.

Visitation: 4:00-7:00 p.m., March 28, 2012, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., March 29, 2012, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Interment: March 29, 2012, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Aurelia, Iowa.
