Frieda “Fritz” Costello Rydstrom, age 97, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and formerly of Storm Lake, Iowa, died March 14, 2012, in Oklahoma.

Frieda Ann Boger was born March 19, 1914, in Denison, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Louise (Wulf) Boger. Growing up, she attended school in Denison, graduating from Denison High School.

In 1942, Frieda married John L. Costello. He passed away in 1971. They were blessed with three children: Robert L., Charles J. and Peg. Later, she married Lester Rydstrom.

Frieda was currently a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed ceramics and also playing cards. She treasured her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Robert L. (Elaine) Costello, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Peg (Kent) Baldwin, of Mitchellville, South Dakota; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Evelyn Costello; as well as extended family and many friends.

Frieda was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Louise Boger; her husbands, John L. Costello and Lester Rydstrom; and her son, Charles J. Costello.

Visitation: 5:00-7:00 p.m., March 19, 2012, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m., March 20, 2012, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Interment: March 20, 2012, at the Schleswig Cemetery in Schleswig, Iowa.
