Virginia Scott
January 26, 1930 - January 12, 2012Virginia Helen Scott, of Billings, Montana, passed away January 12 2012, at the Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction, Colorado, after a short illness.
She was born January 26, 1930, in Sioux Rapids to Vern and Helen Phillips.
Virginia served as the Dietary Supervisor at the Buena Vista County Hospital, Storm Lake, and later at the Heritage Park Care Center in Carbondale, Colorado. She enjoyed making quilts that she shared with family and friends, working crossword puzzles in the daily newspapers, and reading voraciously her whole life.
She is survived by two brothers, Bruce (Bernice) Phillips, of Roberts, Montana, and Bill (Jackie) Phillips, of Virginia, and two sisters, Barbara Bagenstos, and Margo Land, both of Billings, Montana.
She is also survived by one daughter, V. Sharon (Jose) Rodriguez, of Rifle, Colorado; and two sons, Walter (Joan) Scott and Robert Scott, of Drakesville, Iowa; three granddaughters: Brittny Mullen, of Grand Junction, Colorado, Stacy McCarthy, of Rifle, Colorado, and Jenna Scott, of Denver, Colorado;, three grandsons: Walter (Angela) Scott, of Singapore, Damon Scott, of Drakesville, and Kyle Scott, of Denver; and four great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Virginia was married to George Scott for forty years. She later married Harry Kelsey who preceded her in death.
A memorial service was conducted at the New Life Church on January 22, 2012, in Billings, Montana.
Memorial donations may be made in Virginia's name to the Hospice Care Center, 3090 North 12th Street, Unit B, Grand Junction, Colorado 81506.
