Lowell passed away in 1997.

Joy enjoyed doing puzzle books, gambling in Sloan, Iowa, and having coffee with her friends. She also loved crocheting and making afghans and potholders for her relatives and friends which they have enjoyed and treasured. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Storm Lake, having been confirmed there in the Lutheran faith in 1947.
