Lamerne Weiland Mohn
August 15, 1916 - January 25, 2012Lamerne Caroline Mohn, 95, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at Carrington Place in Toledo.
Lamerne Mohn was born August 15, 1916, to Herman and Minnie (Schulke) Schuelke in Cherokee. She was confirmed in March of 1931, at Salem Lutheran Church in Comfrey, Minnesota, and married Henry Weiland on October 5, 1940, in Comfrey. He passed away on July 3, 1978. Lamerne and Arnold Mohn were married August 24, 1985, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Alta. They moved to Story City in 1997. Lamerne was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in rural Boone, and she enjoyed cooking, gardening, ceramics, and playing cards.
Lamerne is survived by her husband, Arnold, of Story City; her sons, Dale (Jackie) Weiland, of Tama, and Doug (Judy) Weiland, of Garden City; eight grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; her brothers, Ewald Schuelke, of Comfrey, Lester Schuelke, of Richland, Wisconsin, and Arthur Schuelke, of Benoit, Wisconsin; and her sister, Myra Coburn, of Marshall, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry; her daughter, Gloria Weiland; and her brothers, Enno and Albert Schuelke.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 30, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Alta with the Rev. Michael R. Standfest officiating. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Hanover Cemetery, Hanover.
