October 2, 1931- January 16, 2012

Lois J. Noethe, age 80, of Lytton, Iowa, and formerly of Storm Lake, Iowa, died January 16, 2012, at the Park View Rehabilitation Center in Sac City, Iowa.

Lois Jane Rinehart, the daughter of Oscar and Henrietta (Petersen) Rinehart, was born in Harold, South Dakota, on October 2, 1931. She moved with her family from South Dakota to Everly, Iowa, in 1942. A graduate of the Everly High School, Lois continued her education at AIB Business College in Des Moines.

On July 11, 1958, Lois married Andrew J. Noethe at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They were blessed with a daughter, Mellanie. The first few years following their marriage, they lived in Spencer, Iowa, and then came to make their home in Storm Lake. Andrew was employed at Hy-Grade and Lois had several jobs including working as a bookkeeper, working at the Storm Lake High School, and for Mike’s Lawn Service. She was also a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker.

Lois was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church of Storm Lake as well as of the Ladies Aid Society. Her special interests included playing bridge, golfing, and bowling.

Lois’s life is lovingly remembered by her family which includes her husband, Andrew, of Lytton, Iowa; her daughter and son-in-law, Mellanie and Royce Nelson, of Sac City, Iowa; her grandchildren: Justine (Mitch) Decker, of Cherokee, Iowa, and Jacob Nelson, of Sac City, Iowa; two step-grandchildren, Jessey and Jennie Nelson, both of Watertown, Wisconsin; a brother, Bob (Marybelle) Rinehart, of Minnesota; a twin brother, Lowell (Frankie) Rinehart, of South Dakota; three sisters: Marge (Bill) Daniels and Edie (Kenny) Williams, of Texas and Mary Calvert, of Arkansas; as well as other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John and Harold; and two sisters, Betty and Norma.

Memorial services will be held Friday, January 20, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Storm Lake Cemetery. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
