Shane Patrick Hankinson, age 38, of Storm Lake, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2011, at his residence of Storm Lake.
Shane was born in Great Falls, Montana, on March 13, 1973. He was a construction laborer and helped to erect the first one hundred fifty wind turbines in Alta. He loved a variety of musical styles. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, and hiking. Above all, however, he loved his family the most.
Shane was preceded in death by his granddad, Jim Hankinson; his dad, Mike Hankinson; and his grandpa, Donald (Bill) Armstrong.
He is survived by his children, Dakota, Morgan, Emily, and Ashley; their mother, Heidi Sippel, of Alta; his mother, Debra Armstrong, of Roosevelt, Utah; his sister, Amy (Orson) Barney, of Roosevelt, Utah; his brothers, Dusty (Priscilla) Hankinson, of Phillipsburg, Kansas, and Josh (Yasmin) Hankinson, of Fort Dodge; his grandmothers, Margaret Armstrong, of Whitefish, Montana, and Violet Hankinson, of Billings, Montana; as well as four nieces and three nephews.
A time of remembrance was held on Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Alta. Burial will be at a later date. The Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Alta is in charge of the arrangements.
