Dianne Leonard, age 57, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died December 13, 2011, at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Dianne Jean Demers was born August 26, 1954, in Storm Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Marilyn (Berry) Demers. Growing up, she attended St. Mary’s Catholic school, graduating from St. Mary’s High School in 1972. Following high school graduation, she attended Iowa Central Community College where she graduated in 1973.

On July 20, 1974, Dianne married David “Whitey” Leonard at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake. They were blessed with two daughters, Jennifer and Stephanie.

Dianne worked for MidAmerican Energy for over thirty years, serving as an office and meter reader supervisor.

Dianne was a lifelong member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake. Also a member of Beta Sigma Phi, she held the office of secretary. Dianne enjoyed golfing, gambling, playing cards, and shopping. In her spare time, she had a passion for photography. Dianne loved spending time with her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, David “Whitey” Leonard, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her daughters, Jennifer Hyson, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Stephanie Leonard, of Goodyear, Arizona; her mother, Marilyn Demers, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her grandchildren: Dominick Hyson, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Brandon Leonard, of Goodyear, Arizona, and Jordan Orduno, also of Goodyear, Arizona; her brothers, Steve Demers, of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Ron (Katie) Demers, of Sioux City, Iowa; her sisters: Mary (Lenard) Schmitt, of Early, Iowa, Sue (Marion) Gibbins, of Storm Lake, Iowa, Carol Demers, of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Joanne (Robert) Sippel, of Lombard, Illinois; her mother-in-law, Ruth Miller, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her brothers-in-law: Dennis (Sandy) Leonard, of Jetersville, Virginia, Gary (Audrey) Leonard, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Mark (Kristy) Miller, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her sisters-in-law: Gloria (Les) Preece, of Midland, Texas, and Michelle (Lew) Miller, of Midland, Texas; as well as many nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends.

Dianne was preceded in death by her father, Robert “Bob” Demers; her father-in-law, Verlyn Miller; and her grandparents: Henry and Winifred Demers and Mike and Ruth Berry.

Visitation: 3:00-8:00 p.m., December 16, 2011, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m., December 17, 2011, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Vigil Service: 7:00 p.m., December 16, 2011, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Interment: December 17, 2011, at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Storm Lake, Iowa.
