Helen Renshaw, age 86, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Monday, June 27, 2011, at the Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.
Helen E. Anderson was born March 7, 1925, in Holstein, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Alice (Bell) Anderson. Growing up, Helen attended school and graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1943. After her father passed away, her mother married Floyd Robb, who, as her step-father, played an important part in her life.
On May 25, 1946, Helen married Jack Chase Renshaw at the Christian Church Parsonage. They were blessed with one son, Randy Rey.
Helen was a member of the Ladies Card Club. She enjoyed fishing, reading, and crocheting. Helen valued the members of her family and treasured dearly the time she was able to spend with them. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Randy Rey (Connie Lanagan) Renshaw, of Sioux City, Iowa; her grandchildren: Erin (Dale) Lappe, of Wesley, Iowa, Ben Renshaw, of Algona, Iowa, and Conner Renshaw, of Maurice, Iowa; her great grandchildren: Megan, Matt, and Emily Lappe; her sister, Mary Alice Hansen, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her step-brothers: Wayne Robb, of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Donnie Robb, of Naples, Florida; as well as extended family and friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Alice Andersen; her step-father, Floyd Robb; her husband, Jack Chase Renshaw; her sister, Doris Jones; her brothers-in-law, Raymond “Shorty” Hansen and Virgil Jones.
Visitation: 5:00-8:00 p.m. June 30, 2011, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. July 01, 2011, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
