Rose Mae Angeroth, age 86, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died June 7, 2011, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

Rose Mae Lee was born October 29, 1924, in Crescent, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Irene (Ruby) Lee. She attended country school in Crescent.

On May 3, 1945, Rose married Eldon Angeroth in Council Bluffs. In time, their union was blessed with three children: Sharon, Sandy and Eldon, Jr.

After their marriage, they lived in Fort Worth, Texas, from May to December while Eldon worked with the B24. Upon returning to Iowa, they began farming near Crescent. After a flood destroyed their enterprise a short time later, however, the family moved north of Sac City at the end of 1947.

Rose enjoyed camping and traveling. In 1974, Rose and Eldon began traveling to Texas during the winter, and in 1975, they changed their destination to Arizona. Over the next thirty-two years, they traveled to every state in the Union, including Alaska and Hawaii; all the Canadian provinces; Mexico; and Europe (twice).

Rose loved her garden, especially her flowers. She was known for her wonderful pies and had an immense collection of cookbooks. She enjoyed garage sales and the pursuit of lost treasures, and she loved socializing over a hot cup of coffee with family and friends.

Those left to cherish Rose’s memory include her children: Sharon (Charles) Eddy, of Newell, Iowa; Sandy (Norm) Knoke, of Storm Lake, and Eldon, Jr. (Lynn) Angeroth, of Early, Iowa; her grandchildren: Rob (Julie) Seil, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mark (Mary Luz) Seil, of San Francisco, California, Lori (Rodney) Schakel, of Monroe, Iowa, Robin (Paul) Knutson, of Storm Lake, Cory (Jacque) Angeroth of Salt Lake City, Utah, Kari (Gilbert) Montano, and Melissa Angeroth, all of Chandler, Arizona; her great grandchildren: Courtney and Caitlyn Seil, Kacie, Kayla and Kolby Schakel, Logan and Jordyn Borchardt, Carson and Catherine Angeroth, Matthew and Lexi Montano, and Madison Rose Angeroth; her brothers: Marvin (Jo) Lee, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Byron Lee, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and her sister, Shirley Watts, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; extended family and many friends.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eldon Angeroth; four sisters: Marge, Betty, Maxine, and Emma; her son-in-law, Steve Seil; and other relatives.

Visitation: 5:00-8:00 p.m., June 09, 2011, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home, Storm Lake, Iowa.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., June 10, 2011, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home, Storm Lake, Iowa.
Interment: June 10, 2011, at the Storm Lake Cemetery, Storm Lake, Iowa.
