John I. Hanson

John I. Hanson, of Long Beach, California, died on May 3, 2011. He was born on April 22, 1932, to Mary Vivian (Dorn) Hanson and Irving A. Hanson in Linn Grove. He graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1950 and Buena Vista College in 1954.
After moving to California, he became a Certified Public Accountant. The Controller for Material Handling Supply, Inc., in Southern California, he retired in 2006.
Those left to honor his memory include his close friend, Grace Luland, his sisters, Karen Kaye, and her husband, David, of Palos Verdes Estates, California, and Marsha Mailliard, of West Des Moines; a step-sister, Ramona Main, and her husband, Lowell, of Angels Camp, California, and his many nieces and nephews who were extremely fond of their Uncle John. He will truly be missed.
John was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Gladys; his brothers, Ronald and Graydon Hanson; his sister, Judith Weiner; an infant sister, Margo, and an infant brother, Steven; his step sisters and brother, Mable June McCullough, Gloria Flanigan and Dean Porath.
John's remains were creamated, and a service will be held at a later date.
