Lois Biggins, age 84, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died February 25, 2011, in Mesa, Arizona.

Lois M. Reed, the daughter of George and Lela (Stocks) Reed, was born December 11, 1926, in Sioux City, Iowa. She was baptized into the First Baptist Church in Storm Lake and celebrated her faith at the Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake throughout her life.

During her youth, Lois attended Sulphur Springs and Hayes Consolidated Schools, graduateing from high school in 1944. After graduation, Lois continued her education at the Sioux City School of Business.

On October 6, 1946, Lois was united in marriage to Don Biggins in Storm Lake. This union was blessed with two children, Sherry and Pat.

Lois worked at Clough Auto Parts as a bookkeeper and at the Sugar Bowl Gift Shop as a sales clerk. She also stayed busy volunteering at the church and participating in the Pastor Parish Relations Program and the United Methodist Women.

Lois enjoyed completing word puzzles, gardening, and sewing. She especially loved to go camping and to travel. She was most proud to have had the opportunity to travel to all fifty states and to England. Lois cherished all the time she spent with family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Don Biggins, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her daughters: Sherry (Marlin) Lode, of Cherokee, Iowa, and Pat (Randy) Merrill, of Sheldon, Iowa; her grandchildren: Shawna (James) Myers, of Johnston, Iowa, Missy (Chris) Jenness, of Cherokee, Iowa, Matt (Rachel) Lode, of North Liberty, Iowa, Nate Merrill, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Katie Merrill, of Chicago, Illinois; her great-grandchildren: Josh and Anna Lode, Carson and Adyson Jenness, and Paxton Myers; her nieces and nephews; her sisters-in-law, Joan Reed, of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Marian Biggins, of Norwalk, Iowa; as well as her extended family and many friends.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, James “Bud” Reed; and an infant grandson, Mark Lode.

Visitation: 5-8:00 p.m. March 02, 2011, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. March 03, 2011, at the Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Interment: March 03, 2011, at the Storm Lake Cemetery in Storm Lake, Iowa.
