Charlotte C. Kuhnes, age 54, of Storm Lake, died February 11, 2011, at the Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
Charlotte Christine was born December 17, 1956, to Robert and Elisabeth (Marckmann) Crawford. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1975 and remained active in her Christian faith throughout her life. Charlotte attended Sioux Valley Community School in Linn Grove, graduating from high school in 1975.
On June 21, 1975, Charlotte was united in marriage to Maynard Kuhnes at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Storm Lake. This union was blessed with two children, Mandi and Mario. Charlotte worked with her husband in the cleaning business they co-owned.
She treasured preaching and teaching the Bible's hope for a better future through God's Kingdom with no more death or wickedness (Revelation 21:3,4). She found happiness in learning about this revelation at the Kingdom Hall meetings, assemblies, and conventions. She also loved teaching her grandchildren the Bible truths and reading stories from the Bible to them.
Charlotte loved to spoil her grandchildren, Diego and Isaak, especially with little gifts all year round. One of her favorite hobbies included shopping online through eBay where she often found coats, clothes, and toys which she gave her grandchildren.
Charlotte enjoyed cooking and decorating her home. She found pleasure in traveling, hiking and bike riding with Maynard, family, and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Maynard Kuhnes, of Storm Lake; her children, Mandi (Pedro) Dela Cruz, of Storm Lake, and Mario Kuhnes, of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota; her brothers, Robert Crawford, of Canby, Oregon, Michael (Eunice) Crawford, of Watertown, South Dakota, Dennis Crawford, of Greenleaf, Oregon, and Roger Crawford, of Storm Lake; and her grandchildren, Diego and Isaak Kuhnes, of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota; as well as extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Elisabeth Crawford.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 19, 2011, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Storm Lake. There was no visitation. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral home in Storm Lake was in charge of the arrangements.
