Vernon C. Gulbranson
August 20, 1920 - October 10, 1980

Vernon C. Gulbranson, 60, died at his farm home west of Laurens, on October 10, 1980, after suffering an apparent heart attack. Services were Sunday at the Grace Lutheran Church in Marathon, with burial in the Poland Township. Cemetery near Marathon.

Vernon Carl Gulbranson was born August 20, 1920, in Laurens to Renn and Clara Skogstrom Gulbranson. He was a graduate of Marathon High School, and on January 7, 1942, he married Gvonne Anderson in St. Charles, Missouri. He worked a few years at the Farmers Cooperative Elevator in Laurens and then farmed until his retirement in 1974.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jimmy, who died of a heart ailment in 1948; a brother, Leland, and two sisters, Mrs. Lois Morgan and Mrs. Leila Garner.

He is survived by his widow, Gvonne; two sisters, Doris Gulbranson and Vernice Fuchs of Laurens; a brother, Lyle, of Lake City, and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Anderson, of Fort Dodge (abstract, Laurens Sun, 10-16-1980).
