Laura L. Olsen, age 101, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died December 7, 2010, at the Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.
Laura “Lucille” Olsen was born December 30, 1908, in Witt, Illinois, the daughter of Alfred and Carrie (Smith) Baysinger. As an infant, Lucille was baptized and later confirmed in 1941 at the Rolling Forks Lutheran Church in Sedan, Minnesota. Growing up, Lucille attended grade school.
On February 19, 1925, Lucille was united in marriage to Martin William Olsen in Cherokee, Iowa. They were blessed with two children: Dorothy Mae and David William.
Lucille was a member of Ladies Aide and the United Methodist Church in Peterson, Iowa. She enjoyed reading and cooking. Lucille treasured visiting with her family and relatives. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Dorothy Tam, of Storm Lake, Iowa, and David (Shirley) Olsen, of Peterson, Iowa; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren as well as extended family and friends.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Martin; two brothers; one sister; one grandson; and one son-in-law.
A Memorial services will be held at a later date at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.

Memorial service will be Saturday, May 28, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Inurnment will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Peterson. Visitation will take place from 1:30-2 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home the day of the service. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
