Adeline Ann Zwemke
March 4, 1921 - December 4, 2003Adeline Ann Zwemke, age 82, of Storm Lake, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2003, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.
Adeline Ann (Wiebe) Zwemke, one of three children of Louis and Elsie (Kruse) Wiebe, was born on March 4, 1921, in Marathon. She attended Zion Lutheran School later worked in the retail and restaurant businesses. In 1954, Adeline was united in marriage to Walter Zwemke. This union was blessed with one son, Richard.
She continued to live in her home in Storm Lake after Walter's death, moving into the Methodist Manor only in September of 2002 where she made many friends.
Adeline's Christian faith was important to her, and she served the Lord willingly. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Storm Lake and taught Sunday School and midweek classes in addition to participating in the Ladies Aid Society and serving on the funeral committee.
Adeline also loved to cook and enjoyed quilting.
Adeline is survived by her son, Richard Zwemke, of Storm Lake; special niece, Julie Dreher; special friend, Tounh Viengsay, and several other nieces and nephews and other loving relatives and friends. She is also survived by her friends and the employees at the Methodist Manor in Storm Lake.
Preceding Adeline in death were her parents, Louis and Elsie Wiebe; her husband, Walter Zwemke; her brother, Melvin Wiebe and her sister, Bernice Dreher.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 6, 2003, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Storm Lake with Reverend Douglas Haynes officiating. Interment was in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery. The Sliefert ~ Asmus Funeral Home in Storm Lake was in charge of the arrangements.
