Glen G. Graeber
November 17, 1912 - April 12, 2003

Glen G. Graeber, 90, died on April 12, 2003 at Trinity Center at Luther Park in Des Moines. He was born November 17, 1912 in Buena Vista County to John and Lean (Olson) Graeber. He attended schools in Cornell and Sioux Rapids and was united in marriage to Mary Dubois in Storm Lake, on August 12, 1938.

Glen successively farmed in Clay and Buena Vista Counties moving to his present farm south of Rembrandt in March 1941.

He was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Rembrandt and a member of the IOOF lodge, former president of the Buena Vista County Farm Bureau. In addition, he served on the Rembrandt school board, the Farm Service Board, and the Security Trust and Savings bank board. He spent many enjoyable winters in Texas with his wife of 61 years.

Golfing, reading and planting trees were his hobbies. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, his parents, a brother, Julius, and a sister, Leona Waite.

He is survived by his two sons, Ray and Janice, Castaic, California, and James and Bonnie, Des Moines; a daughter, Martha Graeber, Pharr, Texas; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren; one sister, Alice Edwardson, Sioux Rapids; and sister-in-law Phyllis Ingram, Storm Lake.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Rembrandt Methodist Church in Rembrandt. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Hospice of Central Iowa, 401 Railroad Place, West Des Moines, Iowa 50265-4730.
