Timothy A. Wagenaar, age 50, of Newell, Iowa, died September 20, 2010, at his home near Newell.
Timothy Andrew Wagenaar was born on March 27, 1960, in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Andrew and Janet (Meredith) Wagenaar. He was baptized in 1967 at Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne, Minnesota, and later confirmed at Palisade Lutheran Church in 1975. Growing up, Timothy attended grade school and later received his GED.
On February 22, 1979, Timothy entered in the United States Army where he served his country until he was honorably discharged on February 21, 1982.
On June 12, 1993, Timothy was united in marriage to Phyllis Wolfgang at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Together they were blessed with two children: Kathleen and Ashley.
Timothy enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and going on family vacations. He treasured his family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Phyllis Marie Wagenaar of Newell, Iowa; his children: Greggory (fiancé, Nicole) Wagenaar of Mankato, Minnesota; Tina Wagenaar of Scottsdale, Arizona; Kathleen and Ashley Wagenaar of Newell, Iowa; mother, Janet Wagenaar of Luverne, Minnesota; brother, Jeff (Chonga) Wagenaar of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; sisters, Kathy (Denny) Halverson of Dell Rapids, South Dakota; Jenna (Royce) Vastenhout of Dell Rapids, South Dakota; Andrea Wagenaar of Hills, Minnesota; uncle, Ubbe Wagenaar of Minnesota; extended family and many friends.
Timothy was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Wagenaar, and brother, Steve Wagenaar.
Visitation: 4-8:00 p.m. September 21, 2010, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Newell, Iowa
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. September 22, 2010, at Nain Lutheran Church in Newell, Iowa
