While working as a nurse in Storm Lake, Iowa, she met the love of her life, John Gannon. They were married on August 16, 1950, at the St. Joseph's Cathedral in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She continued nursing career a few more years before focusing her love and attention on her family.

Left to cherish the memory of her life are her beloved husband of 60 years, John, of Emmetsburg; children, Patricia and Doug Escue of Houston, TX; Michael Gannon and Maureen West of Bellingham, WA; Kevin Gannon of Seattle, WA; Mary Kay and B.J. Larson of Arlington, WA, Donna and Kevin Connelly of Danville, WA; and Robert Gannon of Anchorage, AK; five grandchildren, Kelley and Michael Halvorson, Brad Escue, Mark Gannon, John Gannon, and Noah Larson; and two great grandsons, Colin and Spencer. Marge is preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Kathryn Miller, her half brother Ronald Miller, and her aunt and uncle, Joseph and Lena Miller.
Her compassion for others continued through her volunteer work at the Palo Alto County Hospital and the American Red Cross and through her membership in the Catholic Daughters of America.
Marge lived out her last two years at the Emmetsburg Care Center where she relished in the camaraderie and was comforted by the gentle care of the staff. Donations in honor of Marge may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 418, Spencer, IA 51301, (712) 279-5802.
