PEGGY AXDAHL, 39, of Decorah, Iowa and formerly of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, died as a result of injuries in an automobile accident Friday, Feb. 12, 1999.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 10 a.m., at Faith Lutheran Church in Sioux Rapids.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 16, from 6-8 p.m., at the Sliefert Funeral Home, 403 Fourth St., Sioux Rapids, Iowa 50585.

Peggy Ann Axdahl
Peggy Ann Axdahl, 39, of Decorah, Iowa and formerly of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, as the result of an automobile accident near New Hampton.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 10 a.m., at Faith Lutheran Church in Sioux Rapids, with the Rev. LeRoy Riemer officiating.
Minnie McKeever was the organist. Pallbearers were Randy Hoffman, Kevin Melsha, Alex Murphy, Dale Mills, Dave Boom and Christopher Axdahl.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, Feb. 18, at 1 p.m., at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Nora Springs, with the Revs. Ruth Hanson and Richard Pippert officiating.
Brian Snell will be the organist. Members of the high school band will provide special music.
The honorary pall bearers will be the same as the pallbearers at the funeral service.
Interment at the Scandinavian Cemetery in Alta. The Sliefert Funeral Home of Sioux Rapids is handling arrangements.
Peggy (Johnson) Axdahl was born March 6, 1959, in Sioux Falls, S.D., the daughter of Morris and Joan Johnson. She was baptized at Grace Lutheran Church in Storm Lake.
She spent the first four years of her life in Larchwood, before moving to Sioux Rapids. She was confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church in 1973.
Following graduation from Sioux Rapids High School in 1977, she entered Iowa State University, where she received her bachelor's degree in elementary education in 1981.
For a short time, Peggy lived in Bondurant and Altoona, and then moved to Nora Springs, where she was a substitute teacher and worked with the Head Start program.
In 1996, she became the media specialist for the North Winneshiek School, and had currently been working on completing her master's degree.
Peggy was an avid reader, enjoyed playing the piano and was a devoted mother to her children.
Survivors include one son, Bradley, of Nora Springs; one daughter, Ashley of Decorah; her mother, Joan Johnson of Sioux Rapids; two brothers, Tom Johnson of West Des Moines and Ted and Sharon Johnson of Urbandale; one sister, Pamela and Tom McKeever of Mukwonage, Wis., and other relatives and friends.
Peggy Axdahl was preceded in death by her father, Morris Johnson.
