Jack Garberding, age 69, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died August 26, 2010, at the Newell Good Samaritan Center in Newell.
Jack was born January 27, 1941, in Storm Lake, Iowa, the son of Elmer and Marion Garberding. As an infant, Jack was baptized at the Zion Lutheran Church in rural Storm Lake where he was later confirmed in 1954.
Growing up, Jack attended Zion Lutheran Grade School and graduated from Albert City High School in 1960. Following graduation, Jack attended Stevinson Auto and Electrical School in Kansas City, Missouri, where he graduated in 1961 as a Certified Welder.
During his youth, Jack participated in 4-H and FFA. Jack was a longtime member of the Little People’s Organization. Throughout his life, he was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Storm Lake and the Storm Lake Gun Club and National Rifle Association.
Jack enjoyed traveling and had an opportunity to see most of the United States. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gun enthusiast. Jack loved his family and treasured spending time with his family, especially the little ones.
Those left to cherish his memory include his brothers: Roger (Sandy) Garberding of Denver, Colorado; Ron Garberding of Willmar, Minnesota; Pete (Val) Garberding of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Dave (Cindy) Garberding of Albert City, Iowa; Paul (Julie) Garberding of Pipestone, Minnesota; Scott Garberding of Pipestone, Minnesota; sister, Janet (Ken) Brabec of Fonda, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Marion and his brother, Michael.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. August 30, 2010, at Grace Lutheran Church in Storm Lake, Iowa
