Dale Wolfe
(August 18, 1923 - August 17, 2010)

Dale Wolfe, 86, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away Tuesday morning, August 17, 2010, at Cherokee Regional Medical Center.

Dale was born August 18, 1923 at Greenridge, Missouri, to F.D. "Forch" and Grace Mae (Ray) Wolfe. He attended Greenridge Schools in Missouri.

He was married to Shirley Hughes on September 18, 1941. He was later married to Esther Green. Dale married Leila Goodburn on October 3, 1998, at Paullina, Iowa.

Dale farmed near Rembrandt and in the Alta area for many years. He worked for Case Implement in Sioux Rapids for a short time, retiring in 1985.

He lived in Cherokee the past 25 years; previously he had lived in Alta. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee. He was a member of various card clubs, the Campers Club and the Square Dance Callers Association. He played guitar in the "Little Coon River Boys" band. He enjoyed square dancing and was a square dance caller.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives Shirley and Esther, two brothers Ralph and Lloyd Wolfe and one half brother.

He is survived by his wife, Leila, and four children; Bob Wolfe and his wife Bev of Grand Island, Nebraska; Dave Wolfe and his wife Marilyn of Medinah, Illinois; Rick Wolfe and his special friend Sue Cline of Salina, Kansas; Vicki Hogancamp of Las Vegas, Nevada; four step-children; Nancy (Mike) Hauswald; Jean (Gene) Anderson; Linda (Jim) Hughes; Steve Goodburn; 19 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and one sister Christine Brown of Rogers, Arkansas.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, August 19th, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. Magrey deVega will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Alta, Iowa, at a later date.

There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the Church on Thursday. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. The family will receive friends and relatives from 9:30 a.m. until service time in the Feller Lounge at the Church. On-line condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com
