Khamvene Xayavath, age 88, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died August 11, 2010, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.
Khamvene was born August 3, 1922, in Laos. She was married to Khamsay Xayavath in Laos and together they raised two children: Bryan and Phavanna.
Khamvene was a very social person and loved to get together with family and friends. She enjoyed selling jewelry. Khamvene was a great cook and enjoyed gardening and flowers.
Survivors include her children: Bryan and his wife, Noukone Xayavath of Storm Lake, Iowa; Phavanna and his wife, Tim Xayavath of Worthington, Minnesota; her grandchildren: Jeffrey, Emalie and Tammy Xayavath of Storm Lake, Iowa; Timmy, Kelly and Vannaly Xayavath of Worthington, Minnesota; one brother and one sister of Laos; extended family and friends.
Khamvene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Khamsay; and one brother.
Visitation: Friday, August 13, 2010, and Saturday, August 14, 2010, from 3-6:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.
Funeral Service: Sunday, August 15, 2010, traditional Buddhist rites at 1:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.
