LeRoy Veerhusen, age 71, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Thursday, August 5, 2010, in Iowa City.
LeRoy was born September 29, 1938, in Fonda, Iowa, the son of William and Rachel (Walters) Veerhusen. He attended grade school and received his education in Fonda, Iowa. LeRoy had never married, but spent time with his beloved family and friends.
Over the years, LeRoy became a hard working man and took great pride in his work. He spent many hours devoted to his job and never stopped working until his project was finished. Additionally, LeRoy enjoyed playing cards with friends and taking road trips. He kept everyone laughing and entertained by his humorous personality. Growing up, LeRoy attended the Presbyterian Church in Fonda, and in recent years, he attended Summit Evangelical Free Church in Alta where he also faithfully attended a Bible Study group.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Karen Veerhusen of Storm Lake; his uncle, Bob (Shirley) Walters of Fort Dodge, Iowa; his aunt, Pat Hamanen of Tulsa, Oklahoma; several cousins; and two close friends, Nancy Wilson and Bev Christiansen.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
