Alice Schuelke, age 95, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Methodist Manor in Storm Lake.
Alice Marie Mittelstadt was born September 13, 1914, in Storm Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Alma (Meyer) Mittelstadt. She was baptized on October 18, 1914, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Storm Lake where she was later confirmed in 1928. Alice attended Storm Lake High School where she graduated with the class of 1932.
On June 18, 1937, Alice was united in marriage to Elmer Schuelke in Storm Lake. Together they were blessed with one son, Scott.
In her younger years, Alice was an avid golfer. Alice loved sports, especially cheering on her favorite team, the Chicago Cubs. A devoted sports fan, she never missed any of her grandchildren’s games.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Scott, and his wife, Cindy, of Storm Lake, Iowa; grandchildren: Jason (Keri) Schuelke of Storm Lake, Iowa; Kris (Jeff) Bauer of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; three great grandchildren: Erin and Jaye Schuelke and Jill Bauer; brother, Ray (Marilyn) Mittelstadt, of Storm Lake, Iowa; sister, Doris Gutz, of Storm Lake, Iowa; nieces; nephews; extended family and friends.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Alma; husband, Elmer; four sisters and one brother.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. August 02, 2010, at Grace Lutheran Church in Storm Lake, Iowa
