Clayton’s family lost their beloved husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, and uncle on Sunday morning, July 25. He passed quietly, peacefully ¬in true Clayton style.

Clayton was born on February 3, 1916, at home on the Biggins family farm one mile south of Storm Lake. He loved this beautiful farm where he grew up, played and farmed.

In 1940, at a dance at the Cobblestone, he met his Marian - they were married in February, 1941, and later became the parents of daughter Sandy.

Clayton proudly served in the United States Army during WWII, Epernay, France, 679th Engineer Topographic Company. Upon discharge, he returned to the farm with Marian and Sandy. In 1956, the family moved to Hornick, Iowa, and Clayton began his 25-year career at the Sears Farm and Automotive Center in Sioux City. When he retired, he and Marian moved to a new home on Storm Lake (which Clayton built with help from brother Don and grandson Brad). Four years ago, Clayton and Marian moved to the Regency Center in Norwalk, Iowa.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Bernice Biggins, his brother Melvin and two nephews. Those left to celebrate Clayton’s life and cherish his memory include his wife, Marian; daughter, Sandy; grandson Brad and wife Nancy; granddaughter Buffy and husband Bo; brother Don and wife Lois; great-grandchildren J.J., Joe, Nick, Chad, and Paige; dear brother-in-laws, nieces, other family and friends.

Clayton was a kind, gentle man who truly enjoyed simple things – his family, the farm, house on the lake, fishing, gardening, mowing with his Sears rider, sitting on the screened-in porch, popcorn, watermelon, Kentucky Fried Chicken. We love him, we miss him.
