Joyce M. Perrin, 75, of rural Cherokee, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, as the result of an automobile accident.
Joyce was born July 23, 1926, in Marathon to Emanuel and Hedvig (Hultman) Olson. She graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1944. She married Charles E. Perrin on Jan. 6, 1976 [sic].
She was the bookkeeper for the family business and enjoyed helping her husband with the Quimby Golf Course as well as watching her children and grandchildren participate in all their activities.
She was a caring Christian and a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Joyce was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of America.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck; four sons, Mark and Susan Perrin, Timothy and Lisa Perrin, Kelly and Teri Perrin, all of Cherokee, and Dewey and Kristi Perrin of Hurlon, S.D.; two daughters, Joann Perrin of Cherokee, and Judy and Jerry Slota of Washta; eight granddaughters, Melissa, Emily, Rachel and her fiancee Derek, Valerie, Mary and her fiancee Wade, Abby, Jana and her fiancee Brian, and Julia; two sisters, Marlene and Lester Grunig of Storm Lake, and Arleta Cossman of Fonda.
Proceeding her in death were her parents; a sister, Doris Hall; and her son Dan in 1970.
The family request memorials be made for a scholarship in her memory.
Services were yesterday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee. Rev. Armand Bertrand and Rev. Richard Ries officiated. Burial was in the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Cherokee. A visitation, service and rosary were held at the Greenwood Funeral Home in Cherokee.
