Estelle Ai Williams, the son of Jacob and Winnie Mae (Swearingen) Williams, was born Sept. 28, 1928, in Laurens.
He received his education in Marathon and in Storm Lake before entering the Armed Forces during the Korean Conflict. After the service, he married Louella Wright in Nebraska. The couple divorced, and Estelle remarried to Ellen Hodgell in July of 1971 in Sioux Falls, S.D. After their marriage, the couple lived in Gilmore City.
Estelle worked for Midwest Limestone for 23 years and Geise Construction in Eagle Grove until his retirement in 1990.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen of Gilmore City, sister, Izetta Younker of Storm Lake, sons James of Kimball, Neb., Alan of Chesterfield, Mich., Ronald of Sac City, Gary of Emmetsburg, Roger and John of Pocahontas, Michael of Waukee, and Daniel of Gilmore City, daughters, Retta Williams and Sharon Beeber both of Carroll, Beverly Wipperling of Pocahontas, Susan Mack of Storm Lake, and Laura Eastwood of Fort Dodge, and 27 grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, son, Rick Williams, brother, Ralph Williams, sisters, Pearl Williams and Rozella Helm and grandson, Kyle Williams.
Estelle was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Gilmore City, the Bradgate VFW, and the Pidgeon Club of Iowa.
Funeral services for Estelle Ai Williams were held on Jan. 21, 2002, at the First Lutheran Church in Gilmore City, Reverend Ray Block officiating. Burial was at the Marble Valley Cemetery, Gilmore City.
