Berniece Meridell Miller Stull, age 90, of Marin City, California, and formerly of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in San Rafael, California.

Berniece was born February 13, 1918, in Murray, Iowa, to Annie Rosene (Little) Miller and Oscar Miller. She was baptized on June 21, 1925, at the Church of Christ in Murray. She and her family moved to the Storm Lake area where Berniece attended high school, graduating from Storm Lake High School in 1937.

In 1939, Berniece was united in marriage to Keith Stull. To this union three children were born: Bonnie K., Terry A. and Tim L. The couple divorced in 1957.

Berniece had wonderful musical abilities which she shared through singing and soloing with choirs and choruses, including the choir of Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake; The Buena Vista Country Farm Bureau Women’s Chorus, of which she served as president; Kansas City Women’s Community Chorus; The Honolulu, Hawaii Women’s Chorus; and the San Francisco Women’s Chorus. As a hobby, she enjoyed composing her own music and attending musical events.

As a talented seamstress, Berniece created beautiful clothing, from tailoring coats to making darling children’s clothing as well as party dresses for family and friends. Berniece loved to cook and prepared exceptional meals for those in her life.

Since 1970, Berniece had lived and worked in the Iowa Great Lakes area; Kansas City, Missouri; Honolulu, Hawaii; and San Francisco, California, residing in Marin City. She completed a home health care program and for the past 15 years had worked as a care giver to several elderly clients. She also enjoyed working at a women’s dress shop.

Berniece leaves us with the memory of her positive attitude and strong, energetic personality. Her greatest sadness was the loss of a son, Tim at age 39, to his long struggle with juvenile diabetes.
