Charles E. Fehr, 80, of the Iowa Veterans Home, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.
Charles E., the son of Clayton and Anna (Railstop) Fehr, was born June 29, 1920, in Geneseo, Ill. He was raised and educated in the area of his birth and served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was employed by the Zenith Corporation for many years and sang in the Chicago Opera. He was a member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Fehr is survived by four nephews: Randy and his wife Jane Fehr of Aurelia, Phillip Palermo of Indianapolis, Ind., Donald Peterson of Yorkville, Ill. and Craig Loudat of Rockford, Ill.; one niece Jolene Stevens of Switzerland and one sister-in-law Bernice Fehr of Alta.
Following cremation at the Pursel-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in Marshalltown, memorial services will be held later this spring at the Iowa Veterans Home with burial to follow in the Iowa Veterans Home Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in his name.
