Marjorie Reineking, 83, of Albert City, passed away Monday, Jan. 29, 2001, at the Buena Vista County Hospital in Storm Lake.
Marjorie Lulu, the daughter of George G. and Hazel (Heller) Burditt, was born April 18, 1917, in Fonda. She lived with her family in the Fonda and Varina area. She attended early grade school at Knoke and graduated from Varina High School.
She married Richard R. Reineking on Dec. 16, 1935. Following their marriage, they farmed north of Varina for 30 years before moving to Albert City.
Mrs. Reineking was a member of the Varina Methodist Church for many years and currently a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Albert City. She loved to cook, maintained a large garden and was always ready to donate food.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Richard; one son Merrill and one brother Guy Burditt.
Mrs. Reineking is survived by three daughters: Janice and her husband Raymon Grell of Holstein, Jean Howard of Santa Rosa, Calif. and Maribeth and her husband Norman Nissen of Aurelia; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Reineking were held Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Albert City. Pastor Carold Anderson officiated at the 10 a.m. service.
Pallbearers were Duane Hornor, Lynn Nehring, Lloyd Danielson, Allan Wenell, Lynn Wenell and Tom Clausen.
Burial was in Varina Cemetery. Sliefert Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
