Myra M. Waples - Feb. 19, 1930 - May 19, 2008

Myra Myrthel Waples, age 78, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Monday, May 19, 2008, at Buena Vista Manor Care Center in Storm Lake.

Myrthell was born February 19, 1930, in Castana, Iowa, the daughter of Clair and Millie (Tanner) Waples. She was raised in the Castana area and attended school there. In 1969, Myrthel’s family moved to Storm Lake where she lived the rest of her life.

Left to cherish her memory are her cousins: Duane Hawthorn of Sioux City, Iowa; Clarice Watson of Eugene, Oregon; extended family and friends.

Myrthel was preceded in death by her parents, Clair and Millie Waples; aunt Hazel Hawthorne; uncle Eldon Waples; and her cousins, Mariam Baker Nye and Virginia Simonsen.

Graveside services for Ms. Waples will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at 2:30 p.m. at Kennebec Cemetery in rural Castana, Iowa. Reverend Carolyn Hollar of the Quimby United Methodist Church will officiate. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. There will be no visitation.
