Duane Demers, 64, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, in Storm Lake.

Duane F., the son of Louis J. and Margaret C. (McGarry) Demers, was born Dec. 6, 1935. He was a life long member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake where he was both baptized and confirmed.

He graduated from Sulpher Springs High School. Following graduation he farmed with his brother Louis Jr. and his father. He retired from farming due to a poor health condition. After he retired he moved into Storm Lake.

Mr. Demers was preceded in death by his father, Louis Demers Sr.; one brother, Louis Demers Jr.; and one sister, Janet Hartman.

He is survived by one son Danny and his wife Kelly Demers of Storm Lake; two grandchildren; his mother Margaret Demers of Storm Lake; one sister Joan and her husband Dale Martin of Storm Lake; one sister-in-law Delphine Demers; one brother-in-law Jim Hartman; other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Demers were held Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake. Father Bob Schimmer officiated at the 10 a.m. service.

Pallbearers were Wilbur Triplett, Keith Miller, Ben Demers, Dale Martin, Jim Demers and Keith Hartman.

Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Storm Lake. Sliefert Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
