Sandra J. Wunschel, 61, of Storm Lake, formerly of Wall Lake, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at Mercy Hospital in Sioux City.
Mrs. Wunschel was born Nov. 17, 1938, in Elm Grove Township, Calhoun County, the daughter of Herman and Winogene (Walrod) Harms. She was baptized on Easter Sunday, 1939, and confirmed on May 25, 1958.
On Oct. 1, 1956, she was united in marriage to Eugene Wunschel at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake. The couple lived in Wall Lake until moving to Storm Lake in July 1994.
She worked in nursing homes in Odebolt, Lake View, Sac City and at the Buena Vista Manor in Storm Lake for the past nine years. Mrs. Wunschel was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter Nancy; one brother Kenneth and one sister Linda.
Mrs. Wunschel is survived by her husband Eugene; one daughter Jeannette and her husband Steve Gonnerman of Polk City; four sons: Larry and Kathy Wunschel of Mapleton, Albert and Jane Wunschel of Woodward, Eugene, Jr. (Fred) and Chasidy Wunschel of Granger and John and Miranda Wunschel of Lake View; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers: Joe and Linda Harms of Boyer and William Harms of Storm Lake and one sister-in-law Denise Mills of Lake View.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wunschel were held Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000, at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake. Pastor Roger Carlisle officiated at the 2 p.m. service.
Casketbearers were Larry Wunschel, Jr., Jimmy Joe Harms, Jr., Mitchell Gonnerman, Chris Olerich, Kenneth Harms, Jr. and Steven Wunschel. Burial was in Wall Lake Cemetery. Farber & Otteman Funeral Home of Wall Lake was in charge of the arrangements.
