Pin Xayyavong - Dec. 31, 1952 - Dec. 20, 2008

Pin Xayyavong, age 55, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Saturday, December 20, 2008, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Pin was born December 31, 1952, in Laos in Southeast Asia, the daughter of Thon and Boun. She was married to Inpeang Xayyavong on July 8, 1967, in Laos. The couple was blessed with eight children.

Pin was a very family-oriented mother and grandmother. She liked to cook and take care of her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her friends. She loved to go fishing with her husband and friends in the summer months. Pin enjoyed watching Thai movies. She had always hoped to travel to Laos to see her birth place once again.

Pin was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother, cherished sister and aunt, and a treasured friend to many. Her kind and caring ways will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her children: Tin Xayyavong of Storm Lake; Nin (Simone) Thommavongsa of Storm Lake; Linthong (Nittaya) Xayyavong of Lakeside, Iowa; Kongsy Xayyavong of Storm Lake; Montree Xayyavong of Storm Lake; and Bounmy Xayyavong of Storm Lake; eight grandchildren; extended family and many friends.

Pin was preceded in death by her parents, Thon and Boun; two infant children; two brothers and four sisters.

Traditional Buddhist rites will be held on Thursday, December 25, at 2:00 p.m at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Interment will be in the Storm Lake Cemetery. No formal public visitation time will be held. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
