Glenn D. McCrory - June 5, 1924 - Jan. 2, 2007

Glenn D. McCrory, age 82, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

Glenn D. McCrory was born on the family farm in Shelby County, nine miles north of Atlantic, Iowa, on June 5, 1924, to Archie and Anna (Laursen) McCrory. Glenn received his education at the Clay Township #7 in Shelby County and graduated in 1941 from Atlantic High School. He served his country in the Navy from 1945-1946 during World War II.

On May 11, 1957, Glenn was united in marriage to Betty Jane Fjeld at the Lutheran Church in Primghar, Iowa. The couple was blessed with two sons, Brian and Scott. Glenn was employed as a Ford Parts Manager for 22 years and as a Purchasing Agent for Merrill Manufacturing for 23 years. He also worked at Omni Photo for 10 years and later retired in 1992.

Glenn enjoyed his free time by capturing photos and collecting and restoring old radios. He was also a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Glenn was a loving husband and father who always put his family first. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Betty, of Storm Lake; sons, Brian McCrory of Storm Lake and Scott McCrory of Dillon, Colorado; a sister, Dorothy Brandes of Oakland, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Bernice McCrory of Clive, Iowa; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Anna McCrory, and by a brother, Donald McCrory.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, January 6, 2007, at 10:30.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Storm Lake with Reverends Connie Spitzack and Mark Youngquist co-officiating. Inurnment will be in the Storm Lake Cemetery in Storm Lake where the flag will be presented to the family by AMVETS Post 66. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Friends may call on Friday, January 5, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake where family will be present.
