Madelyn M. Ludwig - Aug. 7, 1915 - Jan. 21, 2007

Madelyn M. Ludwig, age 91, of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, and formerly of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Sunday, January 21, 2007, in White Bear Lake.

Madelyn M. Bueb was born August 7, 1915, in Early, Iowa, to Carl Alois and Henrika (Ten-Vorde) Bueb. She was baptized into the Catholic faith at Sacred Heart Church in Early and later confirmed her faith as a youth in that same church. Madelyn graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Storm Lake with the Class of 1932.

After her marriage, Madelyn was blessed with a son, Kurt, and a daughter, Carol. In addition to making a warm and comfortable home for her family, Madelyn worked outside the home as a cashier. She was a lifelong, faithful member of the Catholic Church, with her adult life spent as a member of St. Mary’s in Storm Lake. She attended mass daily as long as her health would permit and recited the rosary fervently and often. She loved her family and her friends and thoroughly enjoyed sending birthday cards to all who were dear to her heart. She will be missed daily by those who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Kurt Ludwig; her daughter, Carol Simmons; grandchildren: Scott Simmons, Mark Simmons, Karen Ludwig, Brian Ludwig and Eric Ludwig; siblings Catherine Mitchell, Johanna Clemens, John Bueb and Maurita Schuler; extended family and many friends.

Madelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Henrika Bueb; a sister, Matilda Bueb; and two brothers, Joseph Bueb and Richard Bueb.

A Funeral Mass for Mrs. Ludwig will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in St. Mary’s cemetery. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Friends may call from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2007, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake where the family will be present from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. A Legion of Mary rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. and a parish vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m., both at the funeral home.
