Alvin E. “Tuck” Weaver, age 68, of Marathon, Iowa, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

Alvin Elmer Weaver was born September 11, 1938, in Livermore, Iowa, to Alvin Herman and Eva Darline (Sprong) Weaver. Tuck graduated from Clear Lake (Iowa) High School in 1956. On June 28, 1959, he and Grace Staples were united in marriage at the Baptist Church in Storm Lake. The couple was blessed with four children: Alvin, Jr., Michael, Constance and Candace. Tuck and Grace would have been married 48 years on their upcoming June anniversary.

Tuck was a truck driver who enjoyed life and loved his family. Semi-retired, he was currently employed at First Cooperative in Marathon. He was a member of the Marathon Fire Department for many years and a member of the United Methodist Church in Marathon. He enjoyed fishing and playing golf, liked to travel and was always happy to sit down and visit with friends and neighbors. In his later years, he especially treasured his role as grandfather and made a point to attend his grandchildren’s events. He will be dearly missed by all those who loved him.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Grace, of Marathon; son Michael (Nancy) Weaver of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; daughter Constance (Ruben) Mendoza of Lakeside, Iowa; daughter Candace (Larry) Nielsen of Newell, Iowa; grandchildren: Michelle Weaver, Cassie Weaver, Amber Weaver, Brandon Nielsen, Alex Weaver, Bryce Nielsen, Ian Morales; sister Patricia Horzuesky of Osceola, Iowa; several nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.

Tuck was preceded in death by his parents; his infant son, Alvin, Jr.; and one brother, Darrell Weaver.
