Wesley Dean Roggensees - Jan. 31, 1927 - July 1, 2007
Wesley Dean Roggensees, age 80, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Sunday, July 1, 2007, at Methodist Manor in Storm Lake.
Dean was born January 31, 1927, in Holbrook, Nebraska, the son of Albert and Pearl (Robinson) Roggensees. Dean was baptized as an infant and later confirmed his faith as a youth. He received his high school diploma at the University of Nebraska Agricultural School.
On November 7, 1951, Dean was married to Genevieve Rosella Erickson in Aurelia, Iowa. The couple was blessed with a daughter, Marilyn.
Dean was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church in Nemaha, Iowa. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge and served as Governor of that organization for three years. Dean enjoyed fishing and camping, and you might find him wherever a good game of pitch was in progress. A devoted father, Dean loved his family above all and treasured the time he was able to share with them. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Marilyn (Lee) Cruse of Waco, Texas; grandson Joseph David (Patrice) Ihry of Lorena, Texas; grandson Eric Allen Ihry of Waco, Texas; his great-grandson, Joseph David Ihry II; a brother, Louis (Mary) Roggensees of Largo, Florida; a sister, Marilyn Buker of North Platte, Nebraska; extended family and many friends.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Genevieve in 1993.
Funeral services for Mr. Roggensees will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2007, at the United Methodist Church in Nemaha with Reverend Carl Benge officiating. Burial will be in the Nemaha Cemetery. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
