Ivan T. Anderson - Oct. 28, 1910 - Feb. 5, 2007

Ivan T. Anderson, age 96, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Monday, February 5, 2007, at the Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.

Ivan T. Anderson was born on October 28, 1910, at Storm Lake, Iowa, to Theodore and Emma “Josie” (Wilcox) Anderson. Ivan’s family was comprised of five brothers and two sisters. His youth was spent in Storm Lake where he received his education in the Storm Lake Community Schools.

Ivan was united in marriage to Beulah B. Wilcox on June 19, 1937, and this marriage was blessed with three children: Dean, Duane, and DeLora. Ivan’s lifetime vocation was a residential and commercial contractor and he practiced his profession in the Storm Lake vicinity. In the mid-1960’s, Ivan sold his business to Ed Quirin. He was united in marriage to Helga Sievers in Storm Lake, Iowa, on October 5, 1965. Ivan later married Flossie Strandberg Jack on September 18, 1982. For the past 9 years, Ivan has enjoyed the company of his special friend, Lucille Olsen.

Ivan was a long time member of the Storm Lake United Methodist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors and received a great deal of enjoyment from bird watching. Ivan was also very dedicated to his career as a building contractor. Ivan’s legacy has been perpetuated in numerous buildings constructed in Storm Lake and throughout northwest Iowa.

Those who cherish his memory include his son, Dean and Joan Anderson of Livingston, Texas; son Duane and Sharon Anderson of Storm Lake, Iowa; daughter DeLora and Larry Patten of Eldridge, Iowa; his eight grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren; one sister, Harriet Copps of Sioux City, Iowa; two brothers, Richard Anderson of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Don Anderson of Hoffman, Illinois; other extended family and many friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his three wives; three brothers: Clarence, Arlo and Robert; and one sister, Dorothy Liniger.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials may be given to the Ivan Anderson Memorial, Methodist Manor Retirement Community, 1206 W 4th Street, Storm Lake, Iowa 50588.

Memorial Services for Mr. Anderson will be held Friday, February 9, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake with Reverend Jamie Cutler officiating. Burial will be at a later date. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
