Jorgé Zendejas-Medel, age 44, of Newell, Iowa, died Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Jorgé was born December 12, 1960, in Mirandillas, Michoacan, Mexico, to Ruben and Eloisa (Zendejas) Medel. He was baptized and confirmed in Yurecuaro, Michoacan, Mexico.

On May 6, 1993, Jorge was united in marriage to his wife Eva in Yurecuaro, Michoacan, Mexico. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters: Nancy Georgina and Yazmin Elizabeth.

Jorgé was a devoted husband and father. He thoroughly enjoyed spending his free time with his family and would take his daughters for a walk or go swimming, to the movies, to the park, or to eat out. He liked to play football. He will be remembered and missed every day.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Eva of Newell; his daughters, Nancy and Yazmin, of Newell; brothers: Hector Medel of Oregon, Juan Medel of California, Rojelio Medel of California, and Javier of California; sisters: Rosalva Medel of California, Martha Medel and Gloria Medel of Guadalajara, Mexico, and Silvia Medel of California; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Friday July 15, 2005, at 5:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake with Revered Eriberto DaCosta officiating.

Family and Friends may call from 9 a.m. till 11 P.M. Thursday, July 14, 2005, at the Fratzke and Jensen Funeral Home in Newell. Burial will be at a later date. The Fratzke and Jensen Funeral Home in Newell is in charge of arrangements.
