Daryl V. Terrill, age 76, of Montrose, Colorado, and formerly Storm Lake, Iowa, died Thursday, August 11, 2005, at home in Montrose in the care of his loving and devoted friend, Norma Nevitt.
Daryl was born March 26, 1929, in Page, Holt County, Nebraska, to Art and Violet (Barton) Terrill. The family moved to Iowa where he attended and graduated from Truesdale High School. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Storm Lake.
On August 4, 1949, Daryl was united in marriage to Jeanette Sievers in Jackson, Minnesota. This union was blessed with three children: Cindy, Doug and Sheryl.
Daryl and Jeanette began their life together farming near Truesdale, Iowa. They moved to Storm Lake in 1957 where they operated their own trucking business. Then to Milford, Iowa, in 1975 where they started Iowa Great Lakes Mobile Home and RV Sales. Daryl lived at the Lakes until his wife passed away in 1981. The following 23 years, he lived in Texas until he retired to Colorado in November 2004. There he spent his final days enjoying the beauty of the Rocky Mountains and sharing it with his family.
Daryl will be remembered for his kindness and generosity. His home was always open to anyone in need. He loved to travel. His family was dearest to his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeanette; infant brother; father and mother-in-law Fred and Leona Sievers.
Survivors include his children: Cindy Mason and her husband David of Ozark, Missouri, Doug and his wife Stacey of Spirit Lake, and Sheryl Struchen and her husband Scott of Early; brother Ben Terrill and his wife Bev of Ankeny, Iowa; sisters: Audrey Spence and her husband John of Tempe, Arizona, and Jan Larsen and her husband Al of Spirit Lake; grandchildren: Chad Mason, Cami Smith and her husband Matt, Spring Terrill and John Sullivan, Keagan and Kolby Struchen; great grandchildren: Kelsey and Abbey Mason, Cameron and Cole Smith, Sierra and Andrew Sullivan; special friend, Norma Nevitt; brother-in-laws: Roger Sievers and his wife Delores and Ronnie Sievers and his wife Margo; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, August 16, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in B.V. Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake.
Friends may call anytime after 4:00 on Monday, August 15, 2005, where family will greet friends from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.
