Patricia Stull - Jan. 6, 1917 - Dec. 29, 2005

Patricia Stull, age 88, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Thursday, December 29, 2005, at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

Patricia Adeline Prichard was born January 6, 1917, to Harry Robert Prichard and Elsie May (Young) Prichard in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. Patricia was baptized in 1917 in the Methodist Church at Thief River Falls. Shortly thereafter she moved to Storm Lake with her parents, four sisters, and one brother. She graduated valedictorian from Storm Lake High School in 1934. She attended Buena Vista College for two years, transferring to Wayne University in Detroit, Michigan, where she graduated in 1938 with majors in economics, mathematics, and accounting. While in Detroit she lived with her cousin Dorothy Skewis.

In 1938 Pat was united in marriage to Walton M. Bedell in Storm Lake. Her marriage to Walton was blessed with five children, Toni, David, Daniel, Deborah, and Leland. Following Walt’s death in 1958, Pat moved her family to Cedar Falls, Iowa, where she worked as an office manager and bookkeeper.

In 1964 Pat married Keith Stull in Storm Lake and joined him in the farming business. Keith’s children, Bonnie, Terry, and Timothy became part of her life.

Pat was a faithful member of the Lakeside Presbyterian Church. She taught Sunday school for many years and was an active member of the Presbyterian Circle and UPW. She was an avid card player and belonged to the “Five Fifty-Eight” card club for many years. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers, bird and wildlife watching, reading, crossword puzzles, and was well known for her baking skills of homemade bread and pies. More than anything, Pat cherished spending time with her grandchildren.

Left to cherish Pat’s memory are her children: Toni Butler (James) of Elk Grove, California; David Bedell (Donna) of Claremont, California; Daniel Bedell (Gerlinde) of Portland, Oregon; Leland Bedell (Jody) of Maple Valley, Washington; step-daughter Bonnie Zetterman (James Bennett) of Sioux City; step-son Terry Stull (Margaret) of Storm Lake; son-in-law H. James Tope of Storm Lake. Her thirteen grandchildren include: Kristen Gordon, Scott Bedell, Melanie Bedell, Nathan Sutton, Bradley Sutton, Lauren Bedell, Daniel Bedell, William Bedell, Benjamin Bedell, Rebecca Bedell, Elizabeth Bedell, Faye Hale, and Terrence Stull. Also included are four great- grandchildren: Alan Bedell, Derek Hale, Douglas Hale, and Laura Sutton; two sisters, Peggy Darland (Jack) of Cresco, Iowa, and Anita Martin (Dale) of Waukon, Iowa; sister-in-law Carolyn Stull, Storm Lake, as well as other extended family and friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Harry and Elsie Prichard; husband Walton M. Bedell; husband Keith Stull; daughter Deborah Tope; step-son Timothy Stull; sisters, Janet Titsworth and Polly Slife; and brother Robert H. Prichard.

Her family and friends will remember her for her sense of humor and quick wit.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2006, at the Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake with Reverend Duane Queen officiating. Burial will be in the Storm Lake Cemetery. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
