Susan W. Peters - Jan. 17, 1945 - Dec. 21, 2004

Susan W. Peters, age 59, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Tuesday, December 21, 2004, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

Susan was born January 17, 1945, in Storm Lake to Lewis J. and Viola (Thomford) McManus. She was baptized and confirmed in the Church of Christ in Storm Lake.

She grew up in Storm Lake, receiving her education there and graduating from Storm Lake High School.

On October 16, 1965, Susan was united in marriage to Ralph A. Peters, Jr., at the Church of Christ in Storm Lake. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Brian and Jeff.

Susan was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Storm Lake and was employed for 27 years at Trimark Buena Vista Clinic in Storm Lake, most recently as the clinic business manager. In her spare time, Susan liked to play cards, travel and bowl.

Susan was a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother, who treasured the time she spent with her family. She especially enjoyed playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchild.

Those left to cherish her memory include sons: Brian and wife Truell Peters of Olathe, Kansas, and Jeff and wife Cathy Peters of West Bend, Iowa; grandchildren: Brett Peters, Brii Peters, Megan Klemm and husband Shawn and Ruth Wilson; great-grandson Jacob Klemm; brothers: Ron and wife Shirley McManus of Tucson, Arizona, Mike and wife Bonnie McManus of Des Moines, Iowa, and Pat and wife Kathy McManus of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; as well as other extended family and a host of friends.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Viola McManus and her husband, Ralph.

Funeral Services will be Monday, December 27, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Storm Lake with Pastor Steve Schultz officiating. Burial will be in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Friends may call anytime on Sunday, December 26, 2004, between 6-8:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.
