Anna M. Strock, age 96 of Storm Lake passed away at the Methodist Manor in Storm Lake, Iowa, on Tuesday, March 25, 2003, following a stroke.
Anna Mae Schuler was born April 12, 1906, in Hayes Township, Buena Vista County, Iowa, to John and Margaret (Walsh) Schuler. The family resided in Hayes Township, South Dakota, and Sloan. She attended school in Sloan, Iowa.
Anna was united in marriage to Clarence J. Strock at Storm Lake in 1927. This union was blessed with three children, Robert, Duane, and Arlene. She and her husband farmed in Washington Township, Buena Vista County, until Clarence died in 1979. Anna moved into Storm Lake in 1980.
Anna was a member of the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. She was a homemaker and devoted mother, who loved to read, do crossword puzzles, and play cards.
Anna is survived by her sons: Robert D. Strock of Alta, and Duane C. Strock and wife Barbara of Round Rock, Texas; seven grandchildren: Curtis, Diana, Steve, Jim, Mary Ann, Nancy and Gail; brother, A.J. “Babe” Schuler of Storm Lake; several great-grandchildren and other extended family and friends.
Preceding Anna in death are her parents; her husband, Clarence, in 1979; daughter, Arlene Corbin; grandson, Robert Strock, Jr.; and five brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Friday, March 28, 2003, at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake with Reverend Jamie Cutler officiating. Burial will be in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake, Iowa. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will begin after 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 27, 2003, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake where the family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A memorial fund has been established.
