Eloise M. Newell - Oct. 13, 1921 - Dec. 15, 2003

Eloise M. Newell, age 82, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Monday, December 15, 2003, at Methodist Manor in Storm Lake.

Eloise Margaret Blakeley was born on October 13, 1921, at Storm Lake, Iowa, to George and Jesse (Martz) Blakeley. She spent her childhood in her parents’ home in Storm Lake and attended school there, graduating from Storm Lake High School. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake.

On September 1, 1940, Eloise was united in marriage to Howard E. Newell at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. Their union was blessed with two children: James and Shirley.

Eloise spent her life making a warm and comfortable home for her husband and family, who she cherished and with whom she loved to spend her time. She was a loving wife and a devoted mother and grandmother who will be missed daily.

Left to treasure her memory are her son, James and wife Ruth Newell of Grand Rapids, Michigan; her daughter, Shirley Abeel of Colorado Springs, Colorado; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many other extended family members and friends.

Preceding Eloise in death were her parents, her husband Howard on December 2, 1992, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Burial will be in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Friends may call at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake on Wednesday, December 18, 2003, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. where the family will be present from 6:00 – 8:00.
